  1. Beautiful! I'd love to see a recolor, though, as I'm not a huge fan of Flora's textures.

  2. The texture's look kinda primative, but the mesh and alpha are lovely! :D

  3. Finally, but, i'd like to see a recolour too and more male hair converted from Flora.. A snail does a faster job than this..
    Thanks

  4. If both sides were puffy and with a retexture it'd be pretty..

  5. Love it, need more 'normal' hair like this.

I know. :( It bums me out how XM Sims doesn't want anyone else converting their TS2 hairs, but they only come out with new ones once every few months.

  7. I actually like this hair style! Nice Work :)

  8. Is anyone gonna retexture, or will this version have to do? Not sure if i should download, or not, but, sure i can wait and see..

  9. Horrible texture, horrible mesh. I loved XM sims way back in TS2 days but not anymore.

  10. I have to admit, I love all of Flora's meshes, she is one of my favourite creators :)

  11. This mesh is really pretty! I'm still kinda mad about her policy though, I would understand if she converted regularly but if she's not going to do them all then why lose all those great meshes? Also I don't know if you all noticed but she doesn't allow retextures either.

Fyi this hair has some problems. Flora only did 2 Lods (0 and then 1,2 and 3 share the same one) Also it doesn't have bone assignments, it's all assigned to the head so basically it will animate like a stiff board. poly count is about 10,000 if anyone wondered :)

  12. ^Thanks Robo for the info.

I'd understand her policy too if she converted regulary, but not only she doesn't do it but she also does her job half-assed.

  13. ^Exactly.

If you're going to have a selfish policy like that (I can kind of understand because I mean, it IS your own mesh), then all I'm saying is that you need to make sure that 1. your texture looks great (no dark roots, for instance), 2. the mesh is nearly flawless, 3. there are correct bone assignments, and 4. there are correct LODs.

If you can't get those right yourself, then you should go ahead and let someone else with greater skill in those particular areas retexture and fix the hair. Otherwise you end up looking bitter, jealous, and stingy.

  14. Geesh, sims4 will be out before Flora have converted and shared all her hair. Who have time to wait for that? LOL

  15. "Also I don't know if you all noticed but she doesn't allow retextures either."

Well, what is says is that "due to the Sims 3 hair recolor files include our hair MESH file, please DO NOT recolor our hair", which makes me think that, if using the method that AWT uses, it might be possible to recolor her hair since the original mesh would still be required. Not sure, though.

  16. ^ I think Anubis retextured one of her hairs before.

I also think that if people want to, they should just go ahead and convert her hairs if she isn't going to do them at a reasonable pace.

  17. This hair is begging for a shiny retexture. I hope AWT's method can be used :)

  18. Looks kinda like ashley greene

I understand what you're saying, but it's attitudes like this that lead to creators saying, "Fuck it, might as well go pay." Because if they don't feel respected or appreciated, why bother?

I'd love it if Flora could convert her hair at a faster rate, but as long as she's contributing freely to the community, the least we can do is respect her policy.

  20. like the hair, dont like the slacking on the LODS and bone assignments :/

  21. A bit too poofy...*sips a cup of oolong with pinky sticking out*

Well, she'd be appreciated if she'd release hair more than once every six months.

  23. "Well, she'd be appreciated if she'd release hair more than once every six months."

That's so bad of you saying that.
You don't know why she takes more time to release hairs, she might be hell busy in her life, you don't know, and it really doesn't matter.
Be appreciated that she makes new hair mesh styles for you for free.

You complain of everything, this blog is doomed... It's just sad what's going on around in here...

ehem...does her job title say she has to make cc for sims 3? she has a life outside sims you know..theres a thing called the real world.

  25. ^ i know, right? I'd never be able to make custom content *period* because i have school, a boyfriend, friends, homework, and family to keep me busy...i should actually be studying right now =.=

  26. Perhaps I should rephrase. I appreciate her work and what she does. I loved her hairs for TS2 and that's why I'd like them for TS3. I didn't mean to sound so hurtful, but honestly, I think it's wrong for her to not allow people to convert her items when there are plenty of people capable and willing to do them.

I apologize for those of you that misunderstood what I was trying to say and I truly mean to harm to Flora.

  27. It's not wrong for Flora to ask for people not convert her hairs, it's her policy and you should respect that.
Even though I do agree it's not much nice of asking so and not doing that herself.

One way or another, I respect her decision even though I am not in agreement with it.

  28. What I don't understand is that everyone is happy when Peggy or Newsea hairs are retextured, no-one mentions a creator's policy there. Is it because Flora is a free creator?

    ReplyDelete
  29. "Is it because Flora is a free creator?"

Yes. Pay creators aren't respected because they are already breaking the Sims 3 EULA by charging for content anyway...so if they can't respect EA's policies when they need their game in order to make the content they create functional, why should we respect theirs?

However, free creators are respecting EA's policies and sharing out of the goodness of their heart instead of greed, so people feel like they should respect their policies as well.

Exactly what I was trying to say. Thank you.

  31. Nice hair! Ugly textures!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Well, i'm not gonna download. It's a nice mesh, but, i want a proper blonde in my game and these look kinda greyish to me. Using AWT's method sounds like the best way, if it can be done. Best way is to contact Flora and ask about it.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Maybe you should see if the color is because that is the color she chose from CAS. I hear people here complain of weird colors and then I go into CAS and change them. Very easy.

    ReplyDelete
  34. ^thank you, finally someone who understands that the colors are changeable in sims 3.

    ReplyDelete
  35. ^It's not the color, it's the texture. Try it out. Mostly all of Flora's hair has a muted grayish tint.

  36. Well, actually, The EA's EULA changed some time ago, which makes the creation of ccs for financial gain perfectly leagal. But, If T$R or other paysites sued every single person for ignoring their policies,They will have to close their sites, because there are too many X).

    ReplyDelete
  37. "Is it because Flora is a free creator?"

Yes. Paysites are unethical and detrimental to the community. As long as a creator is putting out free content for everyone to enjoy, their policies deserve to be respected. Even if their method of doing so is slower than we would like it to be.

No, it didn't, TSR-troll-who-is-probably-Atwa. Read it for yourself. The EULA remains the same and that is what you should go by--not what some BBS moderator said that was not reflected in the actual text of the EULA.

  39. No, the other anon is correct. EA did make the selling of custom content legal. HOWEVER, if someone wishes to share or redistribute or recolor or edit the content in any way, it's perfectly legal for that person and the original creator can NOT sue EA or their customers. So yes, you can charge. But you can't pull the BS that TSR pulls with threatening to sue. It's perfectly legal for people to share the content that they have paid for.

    ReplyDelete
  40. ^Unless it's EA's created content, btw. Forgot that part. They won't allow the sharing of what THEY make.
