New Worlds/Items Survey from The Sims 3 Store

I'm not sure what this is all about... something about what fans might want for an upcoming world that might be available at The Sims 3 Store.  I haven't read it yet but thought I'd post it anyway.

Anyway, I just want to say it's so good to be home and thanks for all the nice words and for the get well ecards.  Again, it's so good to be home.  And a special thanks to Brandon for keeping things running and to all of you that helped him out:)

A Haunted Library with Magical Spell Book at $15 – A truly spooktacular library built out with 10 exclusive Gothique items. This venue is all ready to be placed in the game for some chilling reads. The crown jewel of this library is the magical spell book that is exclusive to the venue.

Will your Sims use their magic for good or for evil?

Magical Fountain that reverses Sim aging at $35 – Discover a whole new world with new Sims to meet and items and clothing only found in this world.

Nestled amidst dramatic mountains, towering trees, and sweeping vistas this luxury spa town has old world charm and modern comforts. Also included is a hidden magical fountain that reverses aging.

Trait Potions – Ability to have Sims drink a traits potion to unlock hidden traits and also change traits.

Perfume or Cologne – Sims can use perfume 5 times. Each time Sims use Perfume or Cologne they are very attractive to other Sims. There are only 5 uses.

Spells Scrolls – Spells that allow Sims to obtain a specific Moodlet. Spells can be cast 3 times before the scroll is depleted.

Box of Chocolates – Make friends fast by offering chocolates. Figure out who you want to impress since there aren’t enough chocolates for everyone.

Thanks, Anon:)

  1. I'm thinking that the next EP is going to be based on magic. Any one else agree? Also, I wonder how much they're going to try to rape us for this....

  2. Welcome back! Thanks for this.

  3. Maybe we can finally be able to build a restaurant and much more?

  4. The next EP will probably be based on seasons and/or pets since it's most in demand. So much more than magic. I couldn't care less about magic, to be honest. I'd rather they put stuff like this (magic) in the store so that only those who really want to have it can get it. If they keep rehashing all the Sims 1 and 2 EPS in the Sims 3, then we'll never get EPs based with entirely new concepts that haven't been done before like they did with Sims 2 after Sims 1. There is a lot more that could be put in a life simulation game than what we saw in the previous games.

BTW, we all know there are ways to get EVERYTHING in the store anyway. It's quite easy and works much better than pirating entire EPs or stuff packs. So if you can't buy simpoint cards in your country, don't have a credit or debit card, and don't want to give your money to someone who does, then you can still get it.

  5. I don't understand the post at all. It just starts in the middle of nowhere talking about a library, and mentions "$15" without any explanation of what that is referring to, then it goes on to imply they'd somehow release a world that includes major magical gameplay elements, exclusive to that world?

None of this makes any sense.

  6. It was a survey that went out to a certain subset (like has been the case in the past) to get people's opinions on what new worlds, gameplay, interactions, features, objects, etc. that they want to see exclusively in the Sims 3 Store.

I'd love to see a magic EP, but not now, maybe after we get seasons and pets ^-^

  9. Ohh so this is based on a survey?

but nothing that EA is actually releasing?

  10. Maybe we can finally be able to build a restaurant and much more?

I was hoping for something like that too. I've been craving a restaurant/business EP in the sims 3 for so long. Late Night introduced a lot of concepts that could compliment a restaurant system really good, like the dive bars and sports bars. I feel like this game would be missing something if Sims couldnt sell what they made their own way via shops, restaurants, etc. I definitely dont want magic or anything fantasy this early in the game.

  11. Nevermind, this was a survey

  12. ^It's up for possible release in the store based on the number of votes in each category. Voters were told to rank their favorites.

  13. Yay! I'm glad you are home Joe! How did you get ecards?? Do I not have an email address I should? lol.

Anyways I'm glad you're feeling better!

  14. Wait, wait, wait.
What? There are ways to get stuff from the EA store? Do you mean without paying? Because, my god, I want some of the stuff, but can't get it because Australia doesn't let you pay any other way than credit card or paypal. Stupid thing.

Also, I never got the magic expansion. Would like to see a Seasons expansion more than anything. ^^

AND! Welcome back, Joe! I'm sure everyone was thinking well wishes for you. Brandon did a good job of keeping things going while you were off being ill.

  15. Glad you are feeling better, thank you for all your hard work in keeping us entertained with all the gorgeous downloads. Blessings from SA.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not, but MATY has all the store sets for free.

Yep. You can either check the MATY thread or you can go to mistyk's 4shared folder. She has all the unmodified Sims 3 Store sets:

  20. Aww Joe! Welcome back!! :) Glad you are feeling better!

I don't want magic nor seasons nor pets. Not sure what I want, just wish that THEY 'EA' could come up with something new and fresh rather than redo the old.

    ReplyDelete
  21. You'd think EA would realize they would get more money out of an actual EP/stuff pack rather than using the store.

    ReplyDelete
  22. "You'd think EA would realize they would get more money out of an actual EP/stuff pack rather than using the store."

EA is all about maximizing their profits. They know that no matter how overpriced the store is or how freely available the store items are at MATY, that there will still be tons and tons who will always buy stuff. They want to put some stuff in the store and then save the expansion packs for other things. I think it's best that way. I don't want to buy an EP based on magic or a stuff pack based on magic if I'd only want one or two things from it. Putting it in the store lets people pick and choose what they want and doubles profits from EA because they get to put what they want in actual EPs and then put the rest of it in the store.

So, really, it's a win-win for everyone. If you can't afford the stuff in the store or don't have a way to buy it if you can, you can always get it from MATY. EA will still bleed dry the people who will pay for it in the store anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  23. ^BTW, I don't mean people who are paying for it to share. I mean the people who are only paying for the store stuff for themselves alone.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I wish EA would make another city world. The rest are not cities and most of the player-made worlds aren't cities either. They need to even the playing field a bit.

    ReplyDelete
  25. ^Me too. Redcliffs just updated to include the LN lots, though, which is a pretty awesome world over at Awe Sims. Otherwise there haven't been a lot of LN-compatible worlds yet. I was hoping there would be an influx of urban worlds with the release of LN, but no such luck. :(

  26. "I don't want magic nor seasons nor pets. Not sure what I want, just wish that THEY 'EA' could come up with something new and fresh rather than redo the old."

Most of their EP stuff is redone from older games, including TS1. They do update and change it enough to make it fun, I think, but they definitely rely on past games for EP themes.

  27. Its so good to here that you are ok!

  28. Welcome back, Joe. Glad you're feeling better. :)

  29. I don't like magic. Can it be something more resembling life? You can also feel the magic in that.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Meh, You can't blame EA for wanting your money. And LOL! Those ideas are some of the most hilarious things I've ever heard. A box of chocolates to make friends? Really? How sad.

    ReplyDelete
  31. ^ I would befriend someone who gives me a box of chocolate. As long as they didn't involve spit in the process.

I don't like them doing magic becuase its too childish. It seems all too whimsical and fairy tale-ish. They should at least research on wicca to get their magic right.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I WANT PETS AND SEASONS.

And I am not spending 35$ of a box of chocolates, spell scrolls, perfume which was ripped off of ts2 night life, and trait potions.

There is already a cheat and ltr to fulfill that.

come on EA give us what we want. People have been asking for pets and seasons since day 1.

    LISTEN FOR ONCE!!!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Speaking of which, does the 'more attractive' life time reward actually even work?
It hasn't seemed to do anything for my sims. =/

    ReplyDelete
  34. "People have been asking for pets and seasons since day 1."

Actually, I've seen a lot of people even on the official forums say that they don't want pets because they quickly got bored with them in Sims 2. So unless the TS3 version of pets would be a complete overhaul, I'd be in agreement with them.

    ReplyDelete
  35. To the Anon under little miss epic, no, I was not being sarcastic. I don't look at too many sites for ts3, except Anubis', ms3b, and mts.. I shall have to go look at MATY. Thanks for the tip. :P

And Pets did get boring, in my opinion. Yay, you can have an animal, and it can have a job, and blah blah. Seasons was much more interesting. =]

  36. Nadzicle, I don't know where my comment went, but I had linked to the MATY thread and also gave a direct link to mistyk's 4shared account, where she has all the unmodified .sims3packs for all the store sets:

    http://www.4shared.com/dir/17306228/15ed3d2d/TS3.html

So maybe it got caught mistakenly by the spam filter and will show up later, but for now this will work.

  37. I truly hope they aren't foolishly planning a 'Magic EP' yet. We need many other EP's first, including one with INTERACTIVE CAREERS without rabbit holes. Come on EA... I know you're supposed to be incompetent but this is simply inane.

    ReplyDelete
  38. ^ I compleeetely agree about interactive careers neeeeeding to happen already; it was a step in the right direction in Ambitions, but we're only 1/10 of the way there. I want to play jokes on my boss at the office, manage my rock band, see my goofy mascot in action, go on robbery missions, manage my town as mayor etc etc.

IMO, this needs to happen even sooner than pets and seasons.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Fully-interactive careers would be incredible as are those above ideas! To have fully-interactive control this side of your sim's life would have to be an optional feature to satisfy everybody, but it would make for a fantastic EP nonetheless.

As for magic, sounds like a pretty strange and wasteful choice to me, but it could still work. If you bring back many features from TS2 like zombies, witches etc... it might be fun for some people. *shrug*

  41. If we ask for a new animation letting our sims wash their cars, instead they will give us a new "Grand Pre Racing world". I'm so over all this goal business and new worlds. Wish they would just fix what we got.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I for one do not want fully-interactive careers. My RL job is boring enough, coming home from work to play a game about going to work isn't all that appealing to me.

I'd love to see a Seasons-type EP. I miss changing weather.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I hope there will be magic EP but now I´d prefer Pets.

    ReplyDelete
  45. So much nostalgia, goddamn. I loved it when sims came over with fruitcakes and boxes of chocolate. Hell, I miss it when sims were able to give each other gifts.

When they released the christmas store stuff, I was so sad that they didn't add new interactions to it, like "give XXX a gift," and so on. tl;dr I agree that there needs to be NO MAGIC, and more ability to run a business like in OFB, and pets (seasons is fine too).

  46. I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not, but MATY has all the store sets for free.

Yes, and earlier you said it was possible to get it all without pirating or paying with a credit card or simpoints.

Anyway, I've been gone myself and didn't know Joe was sick. Really hope it was minor and you're all better now!!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Oh it sounds like a set of gothic items, which includes a spell book, is $15 for the SET.

I am one of the sheeple who would gladly pay for more animations (items which can be interacted with in a new way).

    ReplyDelete
  48. "I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not, but MATY has all the store sets for free."

    http://www.4shared.com/dir/17306228/15ed3d2d/TS3.html

(Unless you have the same update since the first day you install or download Sims 3, otherwise, it will not work)

    ReplyDelete
  49. Sorry, I mean the same patch since the first day, if updating new patches, these items will not show up in the Launcher. Cause, it states need new patches, even though, the new patches are already updated, so that means those people who share these items, do not update new patches. They use the same old patch since the first day of Sims 3's arrival in the summer of 2009.

    ReplyDelete
  50. "Yes, and earlier you said it was possible to get it all without pirating or paying with a credit card or simpoints. "

Actually, that person did not say that. I did. Please be careful with assuming that anons with similar points are the same person.

And that is not what I said at all. I said, "we all know there are ways to get EVERYTHING in the store anyway. It's quite easy and works much better than pirating entire EPs or stuff packs." So I did not say that you can get the store stuff for free without pirating or using debit/credit card. I said it's much easier to get the store content than pirating entire expansion or stuff packs. And it's true. Pirating store stuff is much easier than downloading a torrent for a 3-5 GB EP or stuff pack and then having to worry about running into problems when it's time to patch. Nothing you pirate from the store has to go into your Game folder because it's just content...and not an actual new game.

    ReplyDelete
  51. hell no on the wicca crap. if they add magic they should not bring religion into it. but i don't want magic anyway...

    ReplyDelete
  52. The first person who commented here on the subject said it was possible to get store stuff without piracy, credit cards, or simpoints. I really don't care which annoymous person said it, it was still a stupid thing to say. But no offense to the "second" person!

Anyway, inter-active items that have to do with seasons or pets kinda need an expansion pack while inter-active magical items could be added to the store regardless if a magical/fantasy ep is already available.
