  8. Looks like pudding, except with CC

  9. Yeah...he does look very base-game-randomizer-ish. He also doesn't look a thing like a young robert smith.

  10. ^For once, I have to agree with Claeric/Shivar.

  11. Ready to troll out!

No dude, that's just you and your anon!pal.

That's pretty dickish of you to go insulting a fellow CC-Artist's creation. Real jerk-move.

I mean, no, he doesn't look like some doe-eyed, androgynous, 'Crying Game' reject, but he doesn't look vanilla and you know this.

ANYway, Thank you Aikea for the handsome sim.

    ^THIS!

  14. Doesn't look anything like the guy. I didn't know who he was so I googled him. Completely different looks.

I hate when people are just such fans of a creator they either can't be objective and reasonable or open their eyes.

  15. If he looks 'puddingy,' it's because the real live Robert Smith has a wide face without any real harsh facial features. :)

Now, 'base-game-randomizer-ish'? Seriously? Tell you what... why don't you to go into your game and hit random until you come up with anything remotely like this sim. As for it not looking 'a thing like a young robert smith,' I beg to differ. Please compare the sim profile to this photograph of real!RobertSmith taken in 1979 (and do keep in mind he's looking slightly down in the photo). Then, sim front view compared to real!RobertSmith circa 1981.

I don't mean to come across as 'DON'T EVER SAY ANYTHING BAD ABOUT THINGS I MAKE!!221!!', but at least give concrete examples of what you think is wrong. And I'd like more examples beyond 'the hair is wrong.'

  16. I think Aikea handled that pretty well enough, Anon.

It's people like you who make people pity Claeric in the first place. You people need to stop whining and listing every single offense Claeric is guilty of; it makes YOU seem like the bully, not him.

Leave him alone and let him be an ass. That way when he says shit, we can form our own opinion on him, not be distracted by yours.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Sorry for ranting, but for every negative comment he makes, there is always a bunch more to follow. Aikea and other creators can defend themselves. There is no need for any white knighting.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Some of us HAVE formed our own opinion of Claeric, Epi. Of course, you want him to be an ass because this is someone you admire and you constantly will make excuses for him no matter what he does. That's a very bad way to be.

The only opinion that is "distracting" is yours because you are nothing but a constant Claeric defender, so you're biased. I actually liked Claeric at one point until I saw his true colors come out over and over again, but you're incapable of this. You're one of those people who lets her friends get away with anything. You're nothing but an enabler.

So now people are bullies because they call Claeric out on his bullshit? Nope, that reverse psychology and strawman argument won't work, so try again. Claeric is nothing but a bully and not everyone is going to sit back and pat him on the back or take it, and if you can't stand to see him get a dose of his own fucking medicine, then maybe you need to grow a thicker skin. Claeric can be as much of an ass as he wants, but people also have just as much right to call him out on it when he does so.

  19. "Sorry for ranting, but for every negative comment he makes, there is always a bunch more to follow. Aikea and other creators can defend themselves. There is no need for any white knighting."

By that logic, CLAERIC can defend himself. If you can jump in to defend Claeric, then other people have every right to jump in and defend Aikea. And almost every single time you see someone say something to Claeric, you jump in and defend him but then flip your shit when someone else defends another creator.

  20. ^I think you're getting epifight confused with jenipunch...

  21. Honestly, even with those pictures I don't see the resemblance. I can see the real Robert Smith has a much longer and thinner face. His nose, likewise, is longer and not as prominent. As you said, the hair is also off.

I think it was just a difficult person to try and recreate, because while he does have something distinguishing about him, the features themselves are not harsh and easily went about looking pudding-y.

Not to sound like an obnoxious critic or anything. But you asked for concrete examples :/

Also, I agree with you Jewell. I think some creators, like Aikea or, say, Lili, can throw just about anything out at people with some nice editing and people will eat it right up! Not that they're not deserving of the praise they get (Aikea and Lili both make some great CC) but it's pretty clear on this blog that the judgment is skewed in favor of or against certain creators.

  22. "Not to sound like an obnoxious critic or anything. But you asked for concrete examples :/"

You didn't in the least, and seriously, thank you for the input! This is exactly the sort of critique that's actually extremely useful for creators, since if gives us something to go on rather than a simple 'doesn't look like him' or 'looks like shit.' Thing is, I originally had his face longer and thinner, and it looked even less like him to me than this version does. :/ (Not that I'm arguing with your observation, mind you.)

For now, however, I think I'll just let him stand as-is. Maybe in a bit I'll go back to him and do some tweaking, and maybe even make him a hilarious hair and smeared make-up. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  23. Some hilarious hair always lightens up the mood of the comments posted. ;)
He looks a lot like Robert Smith in my opinion. Good job. :D

  24. Well i don't know this individual, but his eyes are too big and need a more sleepy look instead of an evil one, outer corners need to be rotated down a slight bit to underline said sleepy look and the hair just doesn't fit and makes him a different persn other than that his face looks equal, but hair and eyes are a bit off, other than that quite good.
Your other CC is fantastic, as it has its own perfect niché, but creating sims can sometimes be a bit difficult, if you want to go for at least 95% likeness.

Try my suggestions and if it makes the sim better, good, if not also good.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I think it looks good. I would change the eyebrows though. It seems like in the pictures his eyebrows are a bit bushier. Aside from that, even if he's not %100 like the pictures he's still a nice sim to add to my game. I'm tired of seeing simmified super models and pop stars.

  26. Woah wait, when has Epi ever flipped a shit?

I agree with Epi. You guys go around trolling people who tell you to stop.

I don't like Clearic, but you guys immediately jump on people and think they are on his side because they don't want to hear your trolling.

It's possible to not be on anyones side.

  27. oh for god sake, talk about that sim already!

PS: he looks fine to me :D ( downloading * WTH xD yes I like him, don't care who he is, cos it's cool loking male sims anyway ;3
PS.2: but ofcourse I like The Cure, too :p don't yell i'm on anyones side xD well, maybe on the side of this sim xD lol )

  28. ^ Too many smilies... age is showing.

  29. If this is random, then I need this in my game. My random sims are darker than night with yellow hair. They also are very husky to complete overweight, with huge noses.

Also it is hard to make to make unique male sims without severely exaggerating the features, large or small. Also more face masks have to be created, or masks that defines features on the face.

  30. (I'm a Claeric-lover <3 He knows I love him)

  31. Ignoring everyone else, who immediately started humping aikea's leg (I have nothing against aikea really.), since I didn't read anything but Aikea's comment...

Please compare the sim profile to this photograph of real!RobertSmith taken in 1979

Alright. Yours has far too curvy of a nose, nowhere near as properly long of a face, too pointy chin, too high nostrils, too small of ears, the eye outer corners are too far back.

Front view? Nose is too wide between the eyes, jaw is too wide, eye bottom is too far up, eyebrows aren't flat enough, and chin is too deeply dimpled.

The sim has an extremely basic face. It doesn't match the most major features of his face (chin, nose, eyes, ears), and honestly looks like a basic sim with tiny eyes, a dimpled chin, and some CC.

This is constructive criticism, yes? I'm sorry if you disagree, but what I'm seeing is an extremely basic sim that doesn't even come close to looking like the celebrity it's supposed to. If you're going to tell someone to compare pictures you better be prepared to listen when they actually do, because as I just said, there's all sorts of features that aren't even close.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Also, the first comment was "He doesnt look like him" or whatever because

    A. If I DID pick it apart, as you apparently would prefer, you know for a fact that the people attacking me would be doing it 10x worse.
    B. I don't think it looks like him, and so I said that. Not a big deal. Not actually sure at all why you took such apparent offense to that.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Why can't we all just accept everyone's creations as they are or maybe give them some constructive criticism and then go on your merry way? There's hardly any room in these comment areas just for saying, "Woohoo! Just what I've been looking for! You rock!". But, no: all you get are people insulting each other over some goddamn PIXELS.

No one should have to go through this shit every time they submit something. Because you know what? In the end, they're just pixels. There is no need to get defensive, or offended.

    ReplyDelete
  34. ^ Or you act like you've got a pair and take the critique and ignore obvious trolls, how would that be?

    ReplyDelete
  35. ...Ha ha ha ha ha ha - don't you just love this place. It's not because the site owner finds all the latest stuff that people have "just gotta check up to see what's new" that makes it so darn popular.. - it's this!! The constant bitching & whining & the trolling + the smart-arse comments interjected here & there... MS3B ftw !!!

    ReplyDelete
  36. "Also it is hard to make to make unique male sims without severely exaggerating the features, large or small. Also more face masks have to be created, or masks that defines features on the face." ...agreed, used, as some say, without overdoing it, you can get better detail for the face - let's face it, with only so many bone assignments available to a single character on the whole, it's probably the only real avenue of getting that much closer to more diverse facial characteristics than any other way - & as for those who moan "it's cheating" gtfo - as long as the mask isn't too overdone or look too obvious - you can get the subtle changes needed to make the face more interesting or more exact...
