New Mods by Claeric

Play With Mirror: Interaction is now 10 minutes long, instead of 25. Conflicts with any mods changing this same value, meaning likely nothing you've got. :p

Working Out on the Bench: Sims will now change positions every 30 minutes instead of every 10 minutes. Conflicts with anything that changes the speed/effectiveness/etc of working out! Note that with this mod, a sim will also sit around panting for longer, and they DO get skill points while panting, as they're still technically working out.

Tombstones: Reduced "Wealthy" requirement from 150000 to 25000 and "Poor" from 75000 to 5000. This means that when a sim dies with 25000 or more Happiness points, they get the special wealthy tombstone, and if it's more than 5,000 but less than 25,000, they get the normal tombstone, and if it is less than 5,000, they get the special poor tombstone. The requirements by default are waaaay too high. Sims just plain don't have that much happiness when they die. Mine don't, at least.

  1. These are well..... pretty useless, who cares how long a sim is playing with the mirror, especially when it only increases it by like 20 seconds real time, And wow that tombstone mod is REALLY messed up, I suppose it would be good if you needed a certain tombstone but didn't want to work hard but for game play purposes sims would achieve that way too quick, most of my sims reach 5000 within the first week, But then again there are also the people that like those cheaty type mods

Bottom line is make mods that are actually USEFUL besides the last 1 which is questionable the other 2 are pointless, Just because you CAN change something doesn't mean there's a need too

    :P

  2. Reason I changed these things:

Mirror: Childish sims do the interaction ALL THE TIME. That extra 20 seconds means they'll do autonomous stuff 20 seconds earlier, and that's a lot for a sim.

Working out: I think it looks more realistic if they spend a longer amount of time working on each part before switching, and a longer time resting when tired.

Tombstones: I actually *spend* my happiness points, thank you, and by the time a sim dies they don't have anywhere NEAR 150,000. I've never broken 100,000.

Stir Crazy: Moodlets are an enhancement to gameplay and a sim's overall mood management. The stir crazy one was too simple to solve for such a "big" problem.

Scooter: I like looking at the scenery.

Faster Visa: Getting a level 3 visa takes too long and I also don't want to cheat to get it right away. This is a compromise.

Mummy Snacks: Mummys are hindered by their speed, and any chance they can get for a quick buff or increase in mood is worth having. Mummy snacks are a good way to dump excessive ancient coins, and using them creatively lets my mummies have a boost in mood just before work, and they can spend the time they WOULD have spent making breakfast traveling to work so they get there in time.

Bottom line: These are changes I wanted, so I made them. Just because you do not want them does not mean they are useless.

  3. I love the tombstone one. I never got the rich tombstone for anyone, but I really wanted to have it for sims from my wealthy families. Thanks.

  4. Yeah, it relies on happiness points, I had no idea. It's pretty stupid that it doesn't rely on money. :|

  5. The tombstone is based on LIFETIME happiness points so even if you spend all your points and have 5 "spendable" points there but the sim gained 150K they should still get the "wealthy" tombstone. And my sims often acquire that many points.

  6. Hm. So it is.

Regardless, I never get anywhere near that. I will up the numbers to be more in-between.

  7. Wow, Rod, just because you don't want something doesn't mean others won't want them as well. Claeric chose to share their mods, they didn't have to.
Next time, try not to be such an ass.

Thanks for the mod! I never understood how to get a wealthy tombstone. orz.

  9. Great mods, Claeric! It's nice to make things a bit more realistic.

  10. Before update 1.6/1.7, my Sunset Valley was on the 4th generation and I got the expensive tombstone twice, both were neurotic sims. They are easy to keep happy, just keep them outdoors and busy with their interest.

Most times I get the intermediate tombstone with the other personalities I like to play, so this mod would be useful. I would like the value for the expensive tombstone to be around 100,000 points though. This is too easy.

  11. What actually is the wealthy tombstone? All my sims get the same one, the large pointy one (lol) i just assumed it depended on whether they fulfilled their lifetime aspiration or not because the brothers and sisters, family members i dont play, seem to always get the tiny ground slab ones. Also some of the ones i leave to their own devices in the neiborhood as teens etc living in my playable house have definetly gained more than 25000 lifetime happiness points before i have moved them out, but also, only get the slab as a tombstone.... It doesnt make much sense to me, ive never had a medium sized stone.

Ahhhh i see now, that makes sense. So you get the medium one if youve completed your lifetime wish or gained the specified amount of happiness points then died unnaturally.... Because if youd have completed your lifetime wish then died of old age it says you would get the tall stone, but doesnt specify with the medium one that you have to die by any way other than old age. But yea im guessing it means by fire, water etc.
    Ignore me. Lol

  13. Honestly, Claeric deserves any spite thrown at him. He's down right nasty to most people.

And don't try to defend him because it looks like was attacked first. I've seen him go off on a person for no reason. On MTS, he posted his current avatar (who I think is a very nicely made Sim, incredibly unique) and asked for criticism after giving a backstory. After he threw a little hissy fit that he could use the hair he wanted, he ripped apart every hair suggestion that people posted. And then, when a poster suggested that he change the color of his avatar's eyes (which were bright purple in ALL of the pictures) to something that reflected a sick nature, Claeric flipped out at that poster, telling him that the eyes where a light blue. The poster replied, pointing out that all the pictures on the thread, especially the most recent ones, had bright purple eyes. And Claeric called the poster an idiot.

So yes, I think these mods are useless. And yes, I think Claeric is fairly talented when it comes to TS3. But he has crap attitude towards other creators. He does not take creative criticism at all. Several times, he has not given proper credit on his "creations" when all he did was modify a file in someone else's work. And most of all, he's a downright douche most of the time. Why else would he be banned from MTS?

  14. lol

with addelai, I got ONE idiot who would NOT shut the hell up. "Hey man my personal preference is this" is not constructive criticism. insisting for two pages that I need to change something because they don't like it is not constructive criticism. They whined for ages that his hair was a bright color, despite me noting it was dyed and dyed hair doesn't magically look like crap when someone has a skin disease. They whined for ages that I called him blue pages beforehand, despite his skin condition being medically defined as a blue tint to the skin despite sometimes being green or even yellow. They just would not shut up.

And "exploding on them" when they said the eyes were purple? I said "Yes, they were purple IN AN OLDER POST." because, as I said not 5 posts into the thread, I changed them to be blue. Said person wasn't even reading the thread, they were just whining and bitching that they didn't like the colors and therefore I should change them, and they would not take no for an answer. I am sorry so many people take issue with stupid-ass people who don't know how to listen being told to shut up. Hell, this person freaking started PMing me, going "hey hey just in case you didn't see my 50 posts telling you to change something, CHANGE THIS". I already said I wasn't going to, yet they pestered for ages. THat is not how feedback works.

The entire purpose of feedback is to consider ideas given to you. When those ideas are rejected, the person giving them needs to give it up and not push for 5 pages for changes that you have already denied. It is not to get one person's objective opinion and change your creation and your creative vision based on that. I would not be surprised if you're this same person who couldn't get this idea through their head.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with not taking constructive criticism if you do not agree with it, especially when it is a matter of opinion and not legitimate issue.

Several times, he has not given proper credit on his "creations" when all he did was modify a file in someone else's work.

huh? I just looked through everything I've uploaded, and I see absolutely nothing like this. Back yourself up.
